Ange Postecoglou has made history by becoming the first manager to win back-to-back Premier League Manager of the Month awards.
The Australian has guided Tottenham to an unbeaten start to the season and currently sit top of the Premier League.
After picking up the award in August, Postecoglou has now scooped September’s gong after securing three wins and a draw from their four fixtures.
Spurs captain Heung-Min Son was also recognised for his displays in September, picking up the Premier League Player of the Month award to hand the north London club a clean sweep for the second-consecutive month.
Son follows in the footsteps of teammate James Maddison who was handed August’s prize following his impressive start to the season.
The South Korean netted six goals in four games in the month of September including a hattrick in the 5-2 win at Burnley and two goals in the 2-2 draw at north London rivals Arsenal.
Son’s other strike came in the controversial 2-1 win over Liverpool.
Spurs took over top spot thanks to last weekend’s 1-0 win at Luton. Micky Van de Ven’s goal ensured Postecoglou’s side remained above the Gunners on goals scored going into the international break.
The Australian has quickly lifted the doom and gloom around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium following last leason’s disappointing eight-places finish resulting in the club missing out on European football.
Harry Kane’s transfer to Bayern Munich on the eve of the new season, threatened to disrupt Postecoglou’s plans for the forthcoming campaign but instead, the Spurs boss has found a way to galvanise his squad.
Spurs return to action after the international break when they host Fulham before two more London derby’s against Crystal Palace and Chelsea.
