Tottenham bossAnge Postecoglou has compared star striker Son Heung-min to former Manchester United icon Cristiano Ronaldo when discussing his changing of roles in the team. It comes as the South Korean international continues to impress in the absence of Harry Kane.
The striker left Spurs for Bayern Munich in the summer and took with him an impressive goal scoring record that needed to be replaced. While it would be hard to sign a replacement, new boss Postecoglou looked inwards towards his squad and potential tweaks.
After giving Richarlison the chance for the first few games, the Australian head coach switched the Brazilian for Son in the hopes of change. Since then, he has returned seven goals in nine matches and has been one of the most in-form forwards in the whole Premier League.
It has coincided with Spurs finding a run of form themselves, with seven wins and two draws taking them to the top of the table and still unbeaten. They have a chance to extend their lead over their rivals to five points if they manage to beat Crystal Palace on Friday evening, playing before everyone else.
Ahead of the clash, Postecoglou was asked about the form of Son and how his move to the centre-forward role has changed the dynamic of the team. Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: «I think it was a little bit of both, seeing him in training and playing.
