Here is your Chelsea morning roundup on Sunday, September 3.
Chilwell issue
Ben Chilwell has been picked out for plenty of criticism following Chelsea's 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest after the left-back was once more unable to impact the game from his new role further up the field.
Chilwell, who captained the Blues in the continued absence of Reece James, played at left-wing whilst Levi Colwill was once more a full-back in a 4-2-3-1 shape. It is a new system for Mauricio Pochettino but has seen results fail to pick up since last season.
It's nothing that Gary Neville didn't see coming, though. Speaking earlier in the season the former Manchester United right-back explained how being without Chilwell could cost Chelsea and in this system they have effectively reduced themselves to just that.
Eden Hazard return chance
For many clubs in Europe, the summer transfer deadline has passed and their business will now be finished until they have a chance to shuffle their ranks in January. While Chelsea's incomings are as good as completed, they could still land free agents as there's no deadline for signing them.
One free agent available right now is Eden Hazard, following his exit from Real Madrid, opening up the possibility of a return to Stamford Bridge.
Mohamed Salah exit route
Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad's strong interest in signing Liverpool star Mohamed Salah could offer five Chelsea stars potential transfer exit routes after deadline day. The Blues currently have a senior squad size of around 30 players with Mauricio Pochettino hoping to have shrunk that down towards 20 this summer.
