The chairman of Glenavon FC has paid tribute to “club stalwart” Jackie Murray following his sudden death.
The married father-of-one was in his early 80s when he passed away on Tuesday, having spent Christmas with his family.
The club has expressed “sadness” and “shock” on social media following the loss of its former team attendant.
“Jackie served the club faithfully for 32 years as a volunteer member of the backroom staff,” it added. "He was also a former chairman of the Triangle Glenavon Supporters’ Club. Sincere condolences are extended to the Murray family.

The Glenavon chairman hailed Mr Murray as “a stalwart of the club for many decades”.
"He was very active at supporter club level and behind the scenes,” Adrian Teer told the Belfast Telegraph.
"He was a man that everybody admired – hard working and at times outspoken – a favourite among fans.
"His wife Sadie services the Glenavon boardroom on match days.
"Our thoughts are with her at this time and the entire family.”

The Murray family is well known in sporting circles. Jackie’s son Darwin was manager of Lurgan Ladies Hockey Club, with whom Jackie’s granddaughter Louise won the Ulster Premier League.
Glenavon fans have also been paying tribute on social media.
"Very sad news, Jackie will be sadly missed in the Triangle club,” one Facebook user wrote.
“Thoughts are with the family at this most difficult time.”
Another posted: “Really saddened to hear this, a true gentleman who always greeted you with a smile, our condolences and prayers are with the family at this sad time.”
