The wife of Northern Ireland footballer Jonny Evans has revealed the couple’s nine-year-old daughter called it the “best Boxing day” she has ever had after her dad’s club Manchester United won against Aston Villa on Tuesday evening.
In a social media post on X, formerly Twitter, Helen Evans, who has been married to Evans since 2013 wrote, “Our nine-year-old just said: ‘that was the best Boxing Day I've ever had’”, following the club’s 3-2 win at Old Trafford.
The match saw United down for most of the game with goals from Villa’s John McGinn and Leander Dendoncker.

However, United managed a stunning comeback with goals from Alejandro Garnacho, who previously had a goal ruled off-side by VAR, only to score again in the 71st minute, and Rasmus Hojlund, who got his first Premier League goal.
It was announced earlier this year Evans would return to Manchester United on a one-year contract - the club where the Northern Ireland footballer began his youth career.
Evans’ wife Helen works for MUTV. The couple have three kids, Lottie (9), Heidi (6) and Eli (3).
Helen’s post on social media was also shared with an emotional smiling face emoji alongside a heart with the hashtag ‘We Love United We Do’.
