Arsenal secured a vital victory over Newcastle with goals from Sven Botman (own goal), Kai Havertz, Jakub Kiwior and Bukayo Saka. The game was built up hugely by the club and emails were sent to season ticket holders in the Clock End and North Bank regarding the resources with which the club was collaborating helping to ‘bring the noise’.
The flags were out well ahead of the kick-off and the fans in both ends of the ground got fully involved. At the Clock End, red flags filled the home section, right next to the away supporters.
Meanwhile, the North Bank was a row of different themed Arsenal flags from red and white to yellow and blue. Efforts made to provide cheaper drink and food options to encourage fans into the ground well ahead of the kick-off had made a meaningful impact too.
Moments before the teams emerged, the stadium DJ played an atmosphere-inspiring tune by Slade and it felt as though they’d pushed the volume to the maximum of what was allowed. Captain Martin Odegaard had called on the fans to bring the noise and the announcer referenced this before his staple “Come on you Gunners!”
A light show was put on with the stadium lit up whilst the usual pre-match video played. Light and shadow filled the ever-growing cauldron of noise inside the ground.
As the teams walked out, the West Stand held aloft artwork from the outside of the ground. Cannons the theme and the Gunners would deliver plenty of shots throughout the game in the big win.
