Brazilian legend Rivaldo has questioned Gabriel Jesus’ long-term future at Arsenal. The former Barcelona icon has shared his concerns about the forward falling down the Gunners’ pecking order.
Jesus came on as a substitute in both legs of Arsenal’s quarter-final tie with Bayern Munich in the Champions League, though has started three of Arsenal’s last four league games. However, he has largely been used in the left flank due to the form of Kai Havertz in Jesus’ favoured central role.
The former Manchester City striker was seen as a major coup when he arrived for £45million last season, recording 18 goal contributions in 33 games during his debut campaign. While Jesus’ output has remained similar this term, with 14 contributions in 31 appearances, former Ballon d’Or winner Rivaldo fears that the forward is at risk of becoming overlooked by Brazil.
