Jurgen Klopp reserved praise for Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez as Liverpool moved three points clear at the top of the Premier League with a 4-2 win over Newcastle.
Salah scored twice and was assisted by Nunez for the opening goal as the Magpies were seen off at Anfield on New Year's Day.
After Salah missed a first-half penalty, he scored in the second period when a razor-sharp move involving Dominik Szoboszlai and Luis Diaz ended with Nunez supplying him for a tap-in before Alexander Isak made it 1-1.
Curtis Jones and Cody Gakpo both registered to make it 3-1 before Sven Botman reduced the deficit with a header at the Kop End from a corner, but it was Salah who had the final say when he converted from the penalty spot after substitute Diogo Jota had been brought down.

Salah, who now has 18 goals in total for the season, is set to depart for the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt for the rest of the month and Klopp glowing in his post-match appraisal.
"We should not be really surprised that Mo can change a game because he did it hundreds of times," Klopp said. "But it's just a really good example for the more goals you have the more you are used to missing chances. You just understand what you have to do, you just keep going, improving and using the situations and that is what Mo did.
"I got asked that question a lot of times about Mo scoring and Darwin didn't but it's just the game and what brought the game in the right direction was the first goal when Darwin squares that ball to Mo.
