Man City's Echeverri dreams of winning the Copa Libertadores with River
Argentina Under-23 international Claudio 'Diablito' Echeverri, Manchester City's newest signing, dreams of playing for the senior national team and winning a Copa Libertadores with River Plate, his current club in the South American country. In response to a quick quiz on the social networks of the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL).
"Playing in the senior national team and winning a Copa Libertadores with River," he said when asked what his dream is. In the video posted on social media, the midfielder showed his sporting ambition, as, when asked whether he prefers to score or provide an assist, he stated flatly: "Goal, always goal".
Echeverri, born in Resistencia (province of Chaco, northern Argentina) 18 years ago, confessed that he always enters "with the right foot on the pitch" as a superstition and defined himself with only one characteristic: "Speed".
Now, he is playing in the South American Pre-Olympic with the Argentina U23 team, coached by Javier Mascherano, in search of a place at the Paris 2024 Games. At the moment, the 'Albiceleste' leads group B with four points, the same as Paraguay and one more than third-placed Peru.
