Jamie Carragher sends brutal Chelsea selection message to Mauricio Pochettino after Man City evidence
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has explained why he believes Thiago Silva's time as a Chelsea player could be nearing its conclusion.
The Blues were held to a 1-1 draw with Manchester City on Saturday night in the Premier League. Raheem Sterling opened the scoring for Mauricio Pochettino's side before Rodri equalised for the home team at the Etihad Stadium.
Chelsea were without Silva for the game against City, as he continues to recover from a groin injury. Pochettino opted tostart Axel Disasi and Levi Colwill at centre-back for the Blues, with Trevoh Chalobah also getting minutes on the pitch from the bench.
Silva suffered the injury during the second half of Chelsea's win over Crystal Palace on Monday night. The 39-year-old faces a spell on the sidelines recovering from the injury, and it remains to be seen if he will be fit to feature in the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool next Sunday.
Carragher spoke about Silva's future at Stamford Bridge following the draw with Man City. Silva is out of contract at Chelsea at the end of the season, and the former Liverpool defender has explained why he believes Silva's time at the club may be about to come to an end.
