Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard believes his team can win both the Premier League and Champions League.
After a 5-0 victory against Burnley, Arsenal have started the year with five consecutive league wins for the first time in their history. Mikel Arteta's side are just two points behind Liverpool, the current leaders, who beat Brentford 4-1 on Saturday.
The Gunners will now focus on the Champions League, where they will face Porto in the last-16 first leg on Wednesday. Odegaard is confident about competing in both competitions.
Speaking after the win against Burnley, the Norway international said: «That's what we want to do, we want to compete in every competition we play in. Of course Champions League is a massive one, so we are excited for it.
»We just want to focus on ourselves each game, keep improving every game and we will see how it goes. We are in a good moment now. We have to use that momentum, keep building on it and we will see."
Arsenal have scored 21 goals in their last five league games, with Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli among the players to have chipped in with goals. “I think that’s what we were missing a little bit in the last few weeks before the break – we created so much but we didn’t score the goals,” Odegaard said.
