The Sir Jim Ratcliffe era at Manchester United is up and running.
The Ineos chief secured regulatory approval from both the Premier League and the Football Association this week, meaning he can now press ahead with his plan to return United to their former glories. He has already drafted in Omar Berrada from Manchester City, installing him as the club's new chief executive, and is keen to add Newcastle United sporting director Dan Ashworth to the ranks.
Ratcliffe, as a result of securing control of football operations in M16, has acted swiftly to try and restructure the club's off-field football department. It is an area of the club that has been plagued by issues for several years and needs correcting as soon as possible.

Once the off-field structure is sorted out, attention will switch to the summer transfer window and the latest chapter in United's rebuild. Erik ten Hag wants to add to his squad this summer and it is hoped that sufficient funding will be available to allow him to do that.
With that said, here are five objectives United should be aiming to complete in the 2024 summer transfer window.
Make a decision at right-back
Not since signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace in July 2019 have United made an addition at right-back. The 26-year-old has, by and large, shared right-back duties with Diogo Dalot over the past 14 months or so, though the latter is currently at the top of the pecking order.
