To celebrate its 10-year anniversary, AS Monaco and its owner Dmitry Rybolovlev, supported the Flavien Foundation during Friday’s match against Paris Saint-Germain.
The foundation, which leads the fight against pediatric cancer, was founded by Denis Maccario back in 2014. Based in the Principality, the Flavien Foundation has previously received the support of AS Monaco and it was the recipient of a substantial exposition ahead of Friday’s clash against PSG, which ended in an entertaining 0-0 draw.
Enzo, a young fan whom Rybolovlev met back in 2018, has been in remission for the last decade and gave the symbolic kick-off for the encounter after having received a singed shirt prior to kick-off. He, as well as a young PSG supporter, supported by the PSG Foundation, were given behind-the-scenes access to the event as part of the initiative led by the two clubs.
The Flavien Foundation will be supported further by the auctioning of two shirts (one AS Monaco, one PSG), which have been signed by the two sets of players. An exclusive tour of Les Monégasques performance centre in La Turbie will also be auctioned with all funds going towards the Monaco-based Flavien Foundation.
The initiative is evidence of Rybolovlev’s increased involvement in the Principality club in recent weeks. Since reports that Rybolobelv had received “unsolicited interest” to purchase his share in AS Monaco, the Russian owner has been increasingly present at matches, both home and away.
