I made a joke of Everton points deduction after meeting with Luton manager - it's all nonsense

Former Everton winger Andros Townsend has described the ongoing Profit and Sustainability Rules cases against the Blues and Nottingham Forest as "nonsense".

Everton had 10 points docked earlier in the campaign, only for that amount to be reduced to six on appeal. Last week it was confirmed that Forest will have four points taken from their Premier League total, although on Monday they outlined their intention to appeal too.

Everton are currently waiting for the outcome of a second charge, with the case being heard this week. That could also be subject to an appeal.

Townsend spent two seasons at Everton before leaving on a free transfer in the summer and now plays for the club's relegation rivals Luton Town.

The Hatters have been shunted in and out of the relegation zone throughout the campaign due to the deductions and reductions. They currently sit in 17th after Forest's sanction, a point clear of the bottom three.

Speaking on the Monday Night Club (h/t Everton News), Townsend gave an insight into what the Luton squad are doing in an attempt to cope with the disruption elsewhere.
