Ian Wright says Howard Webb might need to make a phone call apologising to Aston Villa after Dominik Szoboszlai's opening goal for Liverpool.
Szoboslai scored after just three minutes at Anfield, firing past Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez after Trent Alexander-Arnold's corner found him in space on the edge of the box.
The goal was subsequently checked by VAR with Mohamed Salah standing in front of Martinez in an offside position, but after a swift check it was given and Liverpool took the lead.
However it was reported on the Premier League's matchday live show that Villa coaching staff complained about the call to give the goal, as they were of the belief that Martinez was clearly obstructed from seeing the shot by Salah, and Arsenal legend Wright agreed, saying refereeing chief Webb may be forced into another apology.

"What we saw is that Mo Salah is obstructing Emi Martinez's line of vision," Wright said, "so Howard Webb is probably going to have to make another phone call this week at some stage because that is offside, and that is interfering with Emi Martinez.
"I don't understand any more."
He'd later add on Twitter: "No time to talk about goals, quality play or key moments because all we discuss in the studio is VAR decisions. Boring. Just incident after incident. Taking the enjoyment out of the game."
The decision follows further controversy on Saturday when Fulham saw Nathan Ake's goal given for Man City at the Etihad Stadium, despite Manuel Akanji blocking goalkeeper Bernd Leno's line of sight.
