Jamie Carragher wanted everyone to know where he finished in the 2005 Ballon d'Or rankings.
The Liverpool legend was sat alongside Arsenal icon Thierry Henry and Manchester City cult hero Micah Richards for CBS Sports' Champions League coverage on Wednesday night.
They began to discuss the 2023 Ballon d'Or race, with Lionel Messi expected to hold off the challenge from Erling Haaland, whose 52 goals last season inspired Manchester City to the treble.
Henry famously never won the prestigious prize despite many considering the forward to be the world's best player in his prime.
In 2005, Henry finished fourth behind winner Ronaldinho, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard.
But much to Richards' dismay, presenter Kate Abdo revealed another fascinating fact about that season's race.
«You know who we should also give some credit to for how close they came in 2005 is the man who came joint-20th with Cristiano Ronaldo,» Abdo said.
Richards responded: «Do not say Carragher.»
CBS Sports then shared a graphic with Carragher alongside an 18-year-old Ronaldo — and just below Zinedine Zidane and Gianluigi Buffon.
Henry was also left stunned by the revelation and said: «Zizou 18th and you 20th? That's it, we are dead.»
«Above Ronaldo!»
