Jamie McGonigle marked his return to the Coleraine Showgrounds with a late winner
Coleraine recorded their first win at the eighth attempt as Jamie McGonigle's 89th minute goal earned the Bannsiders a 1-0 victory at home to Glenavon.
Both teams shared chances in the first-half as McGonigle was twice denied, with Jack Malone missing a guilt-edged opportunity at the other end after he failed to find the target from James Doona's cut-back.
Coleraine were much improved after the break and should have taken the lead but McGonigle fired over the bar, before Conor McKendry was thwarted by ex-Coleraine stopper Gareth Deane.
However, there would be late drama on the Ballycastle Road as McGonigle beat the offside trap to slot past Deane as Coleraine move up to sixth in the Premiership
