Dominik Szoboszlai has made a perfect start to his Liverpool career.
Arriving as part of the club’s midfield overhaul in the summer, the £60m signing from RB Leipzig has been an instant success for the Reds. Szoboszlai’s eye-catching displays in midfield have helped set the tone for Jurgen Klopp’s new-look side, who sit two points off top spot after 15 games.
The strength of his performances, plus a couple of stunning goals, has already forced Szoboszlai to play down early comparisons to club legend Steven Gerrard. Even so, Liverpool supporters will hope that the Hungary captain - who was recently compared to prime Lionel Messi by one of his international team-mates - is at Anfield for the long-term.

Szoboszlai previously described playing for the Reds as “a dream” but his start to life in England has not gone unnoticed by players outside of the Premier League. Barcelona forward Joao Felix was asked to name one player he would like to play alongside and it was the Liverpool midfielder who got the nod.
“Dominik Szoboszlai, from Liverpool. I like his game and I think he could play here one day,” Felix replied, despite currently being on loan from Atletico Madrid himself.
