Jordan Henderson has been offered to Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen as he attempts to flee Saudi Arabia, talkSPORT understands.
Henderson’s name has also been circulated to virtually every Premier League club and Italian giants Juventus.
The England midfielder is looking to quit Saudi Pro-League side Al-Ettifaq only six months after his controversial £12million move from Liverpool amid fears for his place in Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2024 squad.
Al-Ettifaq’s stance is that Henderson is not for sale and a loan deal would be difficult for most clubs due to his high wages.
The 33-year-old is desperate to return to Europe and is believed to be unhappy at the attendances of league games every week.
His lifestyle and the country's climate is also understood to be a factor in his decision in wanting to part ways.
Henderson, as of yet, has not handed in a transfer request, with Steven Gerrard still keen to build his team around the former Liverpool skipper.
The Sunderland-born midfielder will have certainly hoped for better form playing under the Reds legend in the Middle East, though things have not worked out.
Al-Ettifaq find themselves eighth in the Saudi Pro League, a whopping 28 points adrift of leaders Al-Hilal.
The club are also winless since October, with question marks over boss Gerrard.
Given Henderson's eye watering wages, should the midfielder depart within the first two-years of his deal, he would need to pay a tax bill of around £7million.
His departure, in fact, will certainly come of a surprise to many, given how he defended the move, having previously been subject to criticism.
