Jordan Henderson transfer latest as captain not in Liverpool squad for friendly
Jordan Henderson will not be involved in Liverpool’s opening pre-season friendly this evening as speculation over his future intensifies.
Henderson has been the subject of interest from a number of Saudi Pro League clubs with Al-Ettifaq - managed by former Reds captain Steven Gerrard - the front-runners.
But with no official approach having been made from any potential suitors, the 33-year-old was part of the Reds squad that travelled on Saturday for their 10-day training camp in Donaueschingen.
But despite regularly taking part in training, Henderson will be sidelined for the warm-up game here in Karlsruhe this evening.

Liverpool are already on the brink of losing one defensive midfielder to Saudi Arabia with Fabinho, who didn’t travel to Germany, close to agreeing a move to Al-Ittihad.
The Reds are already actively seeking further midfield reinforcement to join £95million summer signings Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szobzslai.
However, the potential exit of Henderson would give Jurgen Klopp a further unexpected headache as he continues preparations for the new campaign.
It is believed a weekly wage of £350,000 per week - tax free - is on offer to Henderson from the Saudi Pro League. The Reds would seek a fee of around £20m for the player.
Also missing out from the Liverpool matchday squad for today are Alisson, Thiago Alcantara, Nat Phillips, Stefan Bajcetic, Adrian, Marcelo Pitaluga and Melkamu Frauendorf.
