An irate Jurgen Klopp turned to the Main Stand and howled his frustrations into the Anfield air. Harvey Elliott had just over-hit a pass to Luis Diaz with Liverpool trailing 1-0 to Luton Town and the patrons were getting restless.
Clearly unimpressed by the reaction from those in the crowd, Klopp bellowed something inaudible that was drowned out by Anfield’s vocal annoyance and his team toiled on without a breakthrough.
By full time, the Premier League leaders had restored their advantage to four points, a 4-1 win had been secured and Klopp was saluting all four stands with the customary fist bumping. All had been forgiven. On they march, walking on, with hope in their hearts. And probably fatigue in their muscles.

The droll, pre-match suggestions that Liverpool were thinking of changing the name of their training ground to the AXA Walk-in Centre were understandable but the Reds have made a season-long habit of refusing to point to their injury list as mitigation or explanation.
Eleven out in total here would have made for an oven-ready excuse to serve up but that is not how they do things around these parts. Certainly not when there is so much still to chase.
