Jurgen Klopp has been told that he cannot live in fear of his players getting injured even though his growing list of crocked players has put Liverpool's hopes of winning the Carabao Cup final on Sunday 'in the balance'.
That's the view of Match of the Day pundit Garth Crooks, who has been discussing the Reds' current medical woes in his Team of the Week column for the BBC Sport website. Liverpool recorded another crucial victory last Saturday against Brentford that has kept them at the top of the Premier League for another week, but it came at a cost, with both Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones coming off injured and now facing a spell on the sidelines, whilst Darwin Nunez was also withdrawn as a precaution.
Klopp is already without the services of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dominik Szoboszlai and goalkeeper Alisson Backer as well as midfielder Thiago Alcantara and centre-back Joel Matip. But Crooks insists that the Reds' German boss will just have to accept that injuries will happen as par for the course in what is a demanding season, even though the current issues will have a knock-on effect when it comes to trying to win the first silverware of the season at Wembley on Sunday.
