Following Juventus‘ 1-0 victory over Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, coach Max Allegri provided his insight following the vital three points.
Youth academy graduate Fabio Miretti’s one-time strike in courtesy of a low-driven cross served by wing-back Filip Kostic in the opening ten minutes of the match-up was enough for the Bianconeri their fourth consecutive victory within the league.
Despite only attaining a single shot on target and having 30% possession throughout the entirety of the fixture, Allegri’s side’s discipline and work-rate defensively enabled his side to obtain their fourth 1-0 victory of their season and their eighth clean-sheet of the 2023/24 term.
As it stands, Juventus currently sit in second with a total of 26 points, only two points separating themselves from the league-leaders Inter. The Old Lady have managed to accumulate 13 points out 15 available, maintaining an unbeaten record of four wins and a draw within their last five outings.
While speaking to Dazn Italia, via TMW, Allegri touched upon his squad’s display on Tuscan soil in a post-match interview:
A terrifyingly effective Juventus, who continue not to concede a goal. What makes you most satisfied?
“The 3 points and the performance of the boys who wanted it and looked for it against a Fiorentina who played very well. Playing against them is always complicated because they bring many men above the line of the ball, they move a lot and therefore it wasn’t easy We made a good move on the goal, we suffered more in the first half, while in the second Szczesny didn’t even make a save despite many crosses. In the first half we had many opportunities in the open field, with spaces, but we made many mistakes and the last step.”
