RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkns is reporting that Kylian Mbappé (24) has been re-integrated into the first-team set-up at Paris Saint-Germain this morning.
Mbappé has been training with the “undesirables” since the squad departed for a pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea after the France captain refused to extend his contract with the club. Les Parisiens are determined not to lose Mbappé on a free next summer but believe he already has a pre-contract agreement to join Real Madrid.
Even when the squad returned from the Far East, Mbappé wasn’t reintegrated, and he was subsequently left out of PSG’s Ligue 1 opener against Lorient. The AS Monaco academy product was, however, present at the Parc des Princes to watch a toothless PSG side draw against Les Merlus.
During the match, L’Équipe reported that Mbappé and the club were back on speaking terms, and were seeking to ease tensions. Although, there is still a long way to go before Mbappé signs a renewal at the club. President Nasser Al Khelaifi has reportedly told Mbappé that he won’t play for the club again, unless he signs a renewal, preventing him from leaving on a free, but a significant development at PSG’s training centre on Sunday morning sees Mbappé reintegrated into the first-team set-up.
PSG have released the following statement: “Following very constructive and positive talks between Paris Saint-Germain and Kylian Mbappé before the PSG-Lorient match, the player has been reintegrated into first-team training this morning.”
