According to The Times, Kylian Mbappé (25) is unimpressed by Real Madrid’s attempts to sign him as a free agent in the January transfer window. The France captain is available to discuss terms over a pre-contract agreement with his contract at the Parc des Princes set to expire in June. The forward is keen to explore his other pre-contract options and is intrigued by a move to the Premier League.
Real Madrid have long been the favourites to capture the services of Mbappé when his contract came to an end but with this latest development, his future has been brought into further uncertainty. As revealed by The Athletic, Mbappé has received Los Blancos’ offer to sign him on as a free agent and the financial package will be reduced compared to what they were willing to offer in 2022. Mbappé has told his close friends that he will not let Madrid decide his future, after the La Liga club placed a mid-January deadline on their offer to Mbappé, according to The Times.
The 25-year-old’s current club, PSG, are also confident of the forward signing a contract to extend his stay in the French capital, according to L’Équipe. With Mbappé unimpressed by Madrid, extending his stay with the Ligue 1 champions could be his eventual outcome.
Mbappé is keen to explore his free agency options before deciding his future including a switch to the Premier League, The Times report. Liverpool are interested in the France international and the forward is not “indifferent” to their interest, according to Le Parisien. Liverpool or another Premier League club could be Mbappé’s next destination with the forward interested in a move to the English top flight.
