NIFL CEO Gerard Lawlor wants to see Sub-Regional Funding released with Stormont back up and running
Northern Ireland Football League Chief Executive Gerard Lawlor has insisted that with the Stormont Assembly functioning again, there must be no more ‘false dawns’ in relation to handing out the long-promised Sub-Regional Funding to the game here, declaring that certain Irish League stadiums are almost at breaking point.
Speaking to Sunday Life Sport, Lawlor claimed that due to the lack of funding, the survival of some grounds and the important community work that clubs do is now at risk, pointing out that it is time for Government to finally deliver for football in Northern Ireland and make up for “sins of the past”.
