Mathew Street Festival will be making a return to the city this summer with a new format.
Taking place across the August bank holiday, from Friday, August 23 to Monday, August 26, Liverpool Celebrates Mathew Street Festival will take over the Pier Head. The festival will celebrate the long-running festival, which was cancelled in 2013, with dozens of acts performing over the four days.
The festival is a partnership between some of the original Mathew Street Festival organisers – Bill Heckle, Dave Jones, Alex McKechnie and Rick Allen – and Liverpool Celebrates, a collective of local organisers who've worked on Bongo's Bingo, Rewind and Kendal Calling.
