Liverpool's search for a new manager might have hit another bump in the road, as potential candidate Roberto De Zerbi is now in talks to extend his contract with Brighton and Hove Albion.
De Zerbi is on the radar of big clubs like the Reds and Barcelona with Jurgen Klopp and Xavi Hernandez both leaving their respective teams at the end of the season. However, the Seagulls have not yet had any clubs asking about their in-demand boss, according to talkSPORT.
De Zerbi started working with Brighton in September 2022 when his predecessor Graham Potter landed the top job at Chelsea. The Italian's contract runs until June 2026, but Brighton are now ready to offer him more favourable terms to stay with the south coast club.

De Zerbi's current deal includes a clause that means another club would have to pay £8.5million to take him away, strengthening the Seagulls' hand when it comes to retention. They are under no pressure to sell their best players to raise transfer funds and want to support their current head coach.
Brighton chairman Tony Bloom is planning to invest in new players in the summer and with a proven track record for finding hidden gems, there has arguably never been a better time to be at the south coast club.
