LEE Bonis has declared ‘I’ll be ready’ if he gets the call he craves from Michael O’Neill.
The Larne striker hit a stunning nine-minute hat-trick in the champions’ 4-0 victory over Glenavon in front of the BBC cameras — and he hopes that the Northern Ireland manager was watching as O’Neill seeks a solution to the country’s goalscoring problem.
Bonis previously won caps at Under-21 level and his amazing form since moving from Portadown to Larne in a £100,000 deal in January last year saw him step up to the senior squad for the double header against Denmark and Kazakhstan in June.

The 24-year-old didn’t figure in the matchday squad for either game, but it has given him a thirst for more with O’Neill crying out for someone to put the ball in the net after seeing his team score just twice in the last five games.
“I think I have come on leaps and bounds technically and physically since moving to Larne,” said Bonis.
“It was a big step in my career getting the chance to go away and train with the Northern Ireland team and get my head in through the door and I’ll be looking to get back hopefully in the future, maybe get myself on the bench and play a couple of games.
“I know that I have to keep doing my stuff on the pitch for Larne and hopefully I get my chance.
