RC Lens will target Loïc Désiré as their next head of recruitment in the fallout of the Mike Mode fiasco.
Mode, a former amateur footballer and director of youth recruitment at Sevilla for the past 8 months was appointed to Lens’s head of recruitment in March but was let go less than a week into his new role. L’Équipe reported that there were doubts within the club over the veracity of his early career.
When contacted by Foot Mercato , Mode did not wish to respond to their request for a comment.
This situation has led Lens back to a more established candidate in France, with Désiré the head of recruitment at RC Strasbourg since 2016, now targeted by the northern club. According to Foot Mercato , Désiré had been interviewed for the role which went to Mode but following this fiasco could now reignite their interest in the Strasbourg man.
