Lewis Hall hands Pochettino transfer dilemma amid Crystal Palace interest

Chelsea defender Lewis Hall enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last season and has reportedly attracted transfer interest from a Premier League club this summer

Crystal Palace are reportedly targeting a move for Chelsea youngster Lewis Hall.

The teenager featured 11 times last season and was a rare bright spark for the  Blues  in an otherwise disappointing campaign. His performances also earned him a call-up to England Under-21s, despite still being 18, as his progress spread across to the international stage.

It appears that Hall is being primed for a loan move this summer, though. The young full-back has found his game time restricted in pre-season due to the success of Ian Maatsen under new boss Mauricio Pochettino.

It has been reported by  South London Press  that Crystal Palace are working on a move for the left-back. It is claimed that Hall is set to sign a fresh contract with the Blues before being granted the opportunity to earn more valuable experience in a Premier League loan.

A temporary move to Selhurst Park is a well-trodden path for Chelsea players who find themselves on the fringes of the first team. Conor Gallagher is the most recent example of someone who starred for the Eagles and subsequently found himself in first team contention, back at Stamford Bridge.

Roy Hodgson’s side have found new signings hard to come by this summer. Midfielder Jefferson Lerma is the only new arrival for Palace, having arrived on a free transfer from Bournemouth. Meanwhile, there has been plenty of focus on Wilfried Zaha’s well-documented move to Turkish side Galatasaray.
