Ligue 1 fans appear to be dissatisfied with the judgement meted to the sexual assault cases involving defenders Benjamin Mendy, Hakimi Achraf and Monaco’s Wissam Ben Yedder.
Ahead of French club Lorient’s opening fixture against OGC Nice, a section of the home fans made known their displeasure with the club after it completed the transfer of Mendy from Manchester Cityfollowing his acquittal of a two-year-long sexual assault saga.
The 29-year-old, who is currently facing a spell on the sidelines, was greeted by an unidentified section of the home fans with a banner highlighting his recent ordeal.

FootballAccording to reports from French outlet Le Télégramme, banners were displayed on Lorient’s Grand Théâtre steps – near Les Merlus‘ Stade du Moustoir.
Mendy was last month cleared of all charges of sexual crimes by the Chester Crown Court. A few days after the verdict, he sealed his return to Ligue 1 by signing a two-year deal with FC Lorient.
PSG’s Hakimi was accused of sexual offence by a 24-year-old woman last February and, as reported by Marca, had to testify in court, which has since granted him bail but under police supervision.
