Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is considering a lucrative offer to join Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia.
The 33-year-old has been offered an astonishing £700,000-a-week salary to leave Anfield this summer.
It would make him one of the highest-paid stars in world football.
talkSPORT understands Henderson was initially reluctant to leave the Reds and move his family to the Middle East.
The England midfielder has two years remaining on his current Liverpool deal, which is worth £200,000-a-week.
After 12 years with the Reds, Henderson remains a key player and a vital leader in the dressing room.
He made 43 appearances in all competitions during the 2022/23 season as the rest of Liverpool's midfield struggled with injuries.
Ahead of the new campaign, the Reds have spent close to £100million to sign midfielders Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.
Henderson's place in the new-look midfield is now uncertain.
It is understood he will hold talks with manager Jurgen Klopp over his future in the coming days.
Liverpool legend Gerrard was announced as Al-Ettifaq manager in a shock move earlier this month.
Henderson, who replaced Gerrard as the Reds' long-term captain, was immediately identified as the top summer target.
Chelsea forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is also on the Saudi club's radar.
They could become the latest in a long line of high-profile Premier League players to join the Saudi Pro League this summer.
