Given events at Liverpool this season, it's likely that use of the club's thriving academy will factor into the thinking behind who replaces Jurgen Klopp.
The Kirkby facility has enjoyed something of a standout campaign with Klopp confident enough to give as many as 12 from the Academy ranks game time in the senior setup. Throw in more established performers like Trent Alexander-Arnold, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott and Caoimhin Kelleher and it has been a proud time for the coaches and staff working on site.
While the likes of Ben Doak, Stefan Bajcetic and Kaide Gordon have seen their progress halted by respective injuries this term, the trio have all at least featured at various points themselves, even if they will be hoping for an injury-free run at things from the summer onwards.

If that figure of 16 seems remarkably high, a surge towards the latter stages of four competitions, an injury crisis of almost comical proportions and the willingness to trust those catching the eye have all contributed.
But while it's been some time since Elliott, Jones and Kelleher and vice-captain Alexander-Arnold, in particular, have been viewed as Kirkby hopefuls, the same can now be said of Jarell Quansah and Conor Bradley, who have both enjoyed superlative campaigns of their own, surely negating the need for a new manager to look externally for those positions this summer.
