Former Liverpool star Luis Suarez has outlined his ambitions to win silverware with Lionel Messi at Inter Miami - but conceded that retirement is looming.
The Uruguayan reunited with his former Barcelona teammate in America's Major League Soccer (MLS) during their off-season, along with fellow Champions League winners Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets. Suarez's time in North America got off to a winning start as he helped their team to a 2-0 victory over Real Salt Lake in their season opener.
Both Messi and the former Reds forward played key roles in the win after providing the goals. Suarez, 37, was previously with Nacional and Gremio after his time in Europe ended, following a stint with Atletico Madrid.

"I am so happy, the first game won at home is really important," he said. "We are friends on the pitch and outside and we try our best to help the team and enjoy life. We want to help Inter Miami to win this year."
And he opened up about his difficulties with injury, following knee surgery in 2020, as he detailed his struggles. Suarez added: "Inter Miami is the last club of my career. I can't be more honest.
"The family already knows it. I don't know the date yet, but it's the last step. I am also ready for my last challenge. I must think about having quality of life afterwards.
"I talk about this and I feel like crying because that's who I am, but you have to prepare yourself. I remember that a former player told me that the player is never prepared for retirement."
