Manchester United transfer target Jean-Clair Todibo clashed with Nice fans following their 2-1 defeat at home to Montpellier on Friday night.
Nice enjoyed a stellar first half of the season under new manager Francesco Farioli — often described as a disciple of Roberto De Zerbi — and even topped the Ligue 1 table for a couple of weeks in the autumn.
However, they have since been beaten in seven of their last 12 league games and dropped to fifth in the standings, with Montpellier inflicting their latest loss.
Todibo put Montpellier ahead at the Allianz Riviera when he put the ball into his own net, though Jeremie Boga equalised almost immediately from the resulting kick-off. However, Teji Savanier scored a penalty towards the end of the first half to put Montpellier back in front and they held on to secure victory.
After the full-time whistle, Nice supporters targeted Todibo with a chant, singing: «If you're not happy, leave the club.»
