Liverpool injury news vs Chelsea as Salah, Nunez and Szoboszlai plan confirmed

Liverpool plan to wait until the last minute to decide if Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Dominik Szoboszlai will be fit for the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea.

Curtis Jones won't be playing in Sunday's match at Wembley having joined Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota on the injury list. Salah and Nunez missed Liverpool's 4-1 home Premier League win over Luton Town on Wednesday due to muscle issues, while Szoboszlai hasn't played for three weeks because of a hamstring problem.

All three players will have every opportunity to prove they're fit before a final decision is made about their participation on Sunday. However, Jones remains injured after the seriousness of his ankle problem was discovered following last Saturday's game at Brentford.

«Dom, Darwin, and Mo, we have to really see,» said Liverpool assistant Pep Lijnders at Friday's press conference as he filled in for Jurgen Klopp. «We have two more days. Today's session and tomorrow's session. In the last minute we will check. If they can be there it will be great, to be honest.

»Curtis has high ankle strain. He will be (back) in and around the international break."

Lijnders has also revealed more about the severe hamstring injury goalkeeper Alisson picked up in training last Friday. Now, with both Alisson and Alexander-Arnold out of action, Liverpool will also be without key players for the crucial Premier League match against Manchester City in two weeks, as well as their Europa League games and the Goodison derby against Everton.
