Liverpool missed the chance to leapfrog Manchester City and Arsenal in the Premier League table by drawing at Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.
After falling behind to a first-half goal from Seagulls winger Simon Adingra, Mohamed Salah fired two goals in five minutes before half-time to hand Liverpool a shock lead at the interval.
Although Ryan Gravenberch had the chance to further extend Liverpool's lead just minutes into the second half, Jurgen Klopp's side were made to share the points with the Premier League counterparts after Lewis Dunk capitalised on a sequence of poor defending 12 minutes from time.
The point keeps Liverpool in the top four ahead of the October international break.
