Darwin Nunez has issued a message after scoring the winning goal for Liverpool against Nottingham Forest.
The Reds claimed a 1-0 victory at the City Ground to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table. Nunez's goal came in the ninth minute of second-half stoppage time and led to euphoric celebrations with the travelling Kop.
Liverpool got the goal after an Alexis Mac Allister cross following a corner was met with a Nunez header. The full-time whistle saw members of the Forest team and coaching staff express their frustrations with referee Paul Tierney, after a decision in the build-up to the goal from Nunez.
In Nunez's first public remarks since the game-winning header, the Liverpool striker has issued a five-word message on social media. In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, the Uruguayan wrote: "Darwin returns! Until it’s over!"

Nunez was named on the bench for the game by Jurgen Klopp, as the striker recovered from a muscle injury. Nunez had missed Liverpool's last two matches with the injury and replaced Andy Robertson in the 60th minute at the City Ground.
There was controversy around the goal, which began when Tierney stopped the game shortly before the goal when Ibrahima Konate suffered a head injury. Forest had possession of the ball at the time, and Tierney did not instruct Liverpool to return the ball to the home team after the restart, with the Reds scoring a couple of minutes later.
Nunez's header was his 14th goal of the season in all competitions, and he will now be looking to remain fit for the remainder of the campaign.
