Liverpool are reportedly ready to offer winger Luis Diaz a bumper new contract despite uncertainty surrounding the managerial situation at Anfield.
In January, Jurgen Klopp announced that he would be stepping down from his role at the end of the season after losing energy for the job. Many thought the ideal candidate to replace the German head coach would be Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso.
The former Liverpool midfielder is enjoying an impressive season in the Bundesliga which not only caught the attention of Fenway Sports Group (FSG) but also Bayern Munich. However, the Spaniard recently committed his future to his current club in a press conference which has now pushed the Reds back to square one in the hunt for Klopp's successor.

Despite this, it appears that Liverpool are wasting no time shoring up their squad for whoever does arrive at the club. According to Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra, the Reds are seriously considering approaching Diaz with a renewal offer which would increase his salary.
The idea behind the approach, which is expected to come in the summer, is to deter clubs like PSG from making a move for the 27-year-old and enticing him with lucrative wages. A new contract for Diaz would like only add a year or two maximum to his deal which is currently set to expire in 2027.
