Luke Humphries has come back strong in response to the trolls who made fun of him calling him the "worst world champion". With a stand-out performance at Thursday's Premier League meeting, he made a statement.

During the Aspinall win, Humphries managed an average of 105 and followed it up with another victory in the semi-finals against Gerwyn Price. It came after being knocked out in the quarter-finals on the first night and making it to the semi-finals last week.

Despite a surprising defeat, Humphries, who won the World Championship in January, silenced critics with his performance in Glasgow. He said after Thursday's Premier League meet: "I was written off and called the worst world champion, so I just wanted to come out and play well in Glasgow.
"In the end I was quite unlucky not to win and I'm proud of how I played. I'm not really that frustrated
