Here are five things we spotted in Tottenham's first training session in Singapore as Ange Postecoglou's players took part in a full 11-a-side match the day after their cancelled Leicester City friendly
Match conditions
Following the cancellation of their pre-season friendly against Leicester City due to the deluge of rain in Bangkok, sunshine greeted Ange Postecoglou and his Tottenham players on Monday as they returned to the training pitch. Now on the last leg of their summer tour, Spurs are now in Singapore ahead of Wednesday's friendly vs Lion City Sailors.
It was very much treated as a proper match with the players all wearing their shin pads and having their socks pulled up as opposed to some training matches you see where it's fairly relaxed. The players were certainly taking it seriously and doing everything to win, with one clip on Spurs' official website showing a couple of players shouting for handball against Son Heung-min following James Maddison's goal.
It was the blue team who prevailed in the end with a 2-1 victory.
Maddison goal
He did find the net in the training match, however, as he converted at the near post from Son's cross from the left flank. It was a very accomplished strike from the summer signing as he met the cross with style to leave Brandon Austin with no chance in goal.
Postecoglou's vantage point
The Tottenham team already appear to have taken it on board if their display against West Ham is anything to go by. However, that is only the start of things to come and the team will only go from strength to strength when they put what they have learnt on the training pitch into a match scenario.
During the video on Tottenham's official website, Postecoglou could be seen watching the match from on top
