Tottenham already have a £54m player who will be like a new signing for Ange Postecoglou
Tottenham have spent more than £57million on three new signings already this summer, but there is still work to be done in the transfer market.
Spurs have signed James Maddison in a £40million deal from Leicester City and goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario in a £17.2million deal from Empoli. Manor Solomon has also joined the club on a free transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk following the end of his loan spell at Fulham.
Their spending will not end there though. Spurs are in the market for a central defender or two, having shipped 63 goals in the Premier League last season. New head coach Ange Postecoglou made no secret of his desire to bring in reinforcements during a press conference ahead of facing Lion City Sailors in Singapore on Wednesday.
When asked if he was frustrsated by the lack of defensive signings, Postecoglou said: «No, it's just the football world, mate. I've been in it a long time. I wish it could be like my wife with Amazon where we get deliveries everyday mate. But I can't put one in and get it the next day, unfortunately. It's just the way of the football world so no frustration, just keep working hard to try and get it done.»
With Maddison arriving, Spurs have reinforced the midfield significantly, with players returning to the club from loan spells in that area too. The likes of Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso will both be looking to make a mark under a new head coach, and Ndombele could be like a new signing for Spurs.
