Erling Haaland looks set to win the race to be fit for Manchester City's Premier League showdown with Liverpool after returning to training on Thursday.
The Norwegian forward was one of a number of City players up against the clock to prove their fitness to Pep Guardiola ahead of Saturday's table-topping clash.
Haaland had missed Norway's Euro 2024 qualifier against Scotland on Sunday after aggravating an ankle injury against the Faroe Islands just days before.

However, Haaland, who scored 36 Premier League goals for the Cityzens in his debut campaign last year, reported to the City Football Academy on Thursday and trained alongside the rest of his Manchester City team-mates.
Guardiola led Thursday's session in East Manchester, which also included Rodri. The Spanish midfielder had been a doubt for Saturday's match after missing his country's 3-1 over Cyrpus last Thursday but returned to the starting XI just three days later against Georgia and he completed 86 minutes.
Also involved in Thursday's session were Nathan Ake, Ederson, Matheus Nunes and Mateo Kovacic, four players who withdrew from their international camps due to varying injury issues.
Liverpool, meanwhile, were able to welcome back Joe Gomez, Curtis Jones, Ryan Gravenberch and Ibrahima Konate to training on the same afternoon, alongside their South American contingent, as they continued their preparations for the short trip to East Manchester.
Saturday's trip comes too soon for Thiago Alcantara, Stefan Bajcetic and Andy Robertson though, who are all currently nursing long-term injuries.
