Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips has been assured that he will be part of England's squad for the Euros "regardless of where he ends up" this month.
The former Leeds United ace has endured a tough 18-month spell at the Etihad, but Phillips is still regularly getting into Gareth Southgate's England squad. The midfielder is now looking for a new club in the January transfer window after struggling to get into Pep Guardiola's side.
Newcastle United are reportedly keen to sign the former Leeds player, while Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are also rumoured to want him. Phillips wants to be sure he'll get plenty of game time at his next club as he hopes to make England's squad for Euro 2024 in the summer.

But Robbie Savage believes he'll be at the Euros squad no matter what happens in the coming month. He told Planet Sport Bet: "Gareth Southgate has a lot of faith in Kalvin Phillips as he continues to pick him in the England squad despite him playing hardly any minutes for Manchester City. I still think he'll go to the Euros regardless of where he ends up after this transfer window.
"If I was him, I'd want to be playing Premier League football, so Newcastle looks a great option. The fanbase is unbelievable and they certainly need someone in that central midfield area. He needs to go where he thinks he'll play the most football to get himself in the best possible shape for the Euros and the best option right now to me looks like going to Newcastle."
