Manchester City captain Kyle Walker has joked that he intends to "keep going forever" when asked about any plans to retire from international football.
Walker is currently away on international duty with England and will be hoping to play a role in the Three Lions' European Championship qualifying clash with Italy on Tuesday night. Walker was an unused substitute against Australia on Friday night as Gareth Southgate experimented with his side in the 1-0 win over Graham Arnold's men.
While Walker's future at club level was recently the subject of intense speculation - with Bayern Munich attempting to sign the 33-year-old before he penned a new deal at the Etihad Stadium - his future at international level has also been up for debate. It's understood he had to be persuaded not to retire from England duty, and he's now been quizzed on his international future.

When asked at a pre-match press conference whether he has any plans to hang up his boots with the Three Lions, Walker responded: "I'm going to keep going forever now."
The City defender was also asked to give his thoughts on VAR and the impact it has had on the game. Walker admitted the technology has taken something away from the game, referencing Luis Diaz's wrongly disallowed goal for Liverpool against Tottenham when discussing the flaws of the system.
"I like it when it helps us out and I don't like it when it doesn't help us out!" he added. "Sometimes it does take away the talk about football when you're talking with your mates about whether it was a goal or if it was offside, so it does take that out of it. Sometimes that does make it not go well.
