Virgil van Dijk has admitted he has noticed a "different energy" about Liverpool after a summer of change at the club.
The Reds said goodbye to long-serving midfielders Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner, Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita and revamped this department of the pitch by adding Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo, Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister to the ranks.
These changes have paid off for Jurgen Klopp who, like his midfield, appears to be rejuvenated after what was a challenging campaign for Liverpool after ending the year in fifth and without silverware.
Many have referred to this current team as 'Liverpool 2.0' and Van Dijk has recognised there is a freshness at present after Saturday's 2-0 win over Everton moved Klopp's side top of the Premier League table.

"There has been an transition, of course, also in the way we play, different players with different qualities and trying to adapt," said the Dutch defender. "It's working quite well. Everyone is pushing each other and playing at a high level. That's the key to success, hopefully this season.
"Everyone last year, especially towards at the end of the season, was drained - if I am absolutely honest. It was such a disappointing season because we didn't find the consistency. We played one good game - I don't want to mention it again - but we played Manchester United and won big here at home and then lost to Bournemouth in the next game. It was so frustrating because everyone wants to perform on the highest level and win every game.
