Kevin De Bruyne helped his Manchester City side beat Crystal Palace 4-2 on Saturday as they remain in the hunt for the title. De Bruyne had a hand in three of City's goals at Selhurst Park, scoring twice and setting up a second-half strike for Erling Haaland.
City are third in the Premier League as a result, one point behind table-toppers Arsenal and Liverpool in second. De Bruyne starred while team-mate Phil Foden, who hit a hat-trick against Aston Villa in midweek, watched from the bench.
Despite Foden having arguably the best season of his career, De Bruyne insists it doesn't have to be a choice between the two. «Phil has been amazing this season so he deserves it, it keeps me on my toes to give me that little push,» De Bruyne said.
On the two playing together, he said: «It's possible. When I started with David Silva, nobody thought it would be possible but we managed it in a way. „David was the older player and I was younger and the runner, now it's going to be a bit vice versa. I don't see why not, I don't think we've done it that much.
“If I can do it with Julian (Alvarez), who is more of a striker, then I can also do it with Phil. „I've been with Phil for about seven years now so I don't feel he's a youngster anymore.
“He's an established superstar in our team, he's been here that long. He's just amazing.» De Bruyne and City's players did not have long to enjoy the win at Palace, with another huge game coming up.
