Guardiola confirmed that Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne and Manu Akanji all asked to come off against Real. The former is a doubt for today's game, as confirmed by Guardiola on Friday, but De Bruyne is expected to be fit.
With seven players completing 120 minutes on Wednesday, Guardiola may have to rotate his squad to ensure they can match a Chelsea side for fitness who last played on Monday. Chelsea will be led by former City forward Cole Palmer, who left the Etihad in the summer and has 38 goal involvements in a fine debut season at Stamford Bridge.
