Man Utd to make shock move for Real Madrid attacker?

Manchester United are now reportedly weighing up a shock move for a Real Madrid attacker.

Spanish striker Joselu joined Los Blancos in a surprise loan deal from Espanyol at the beginning of this season, and has since made a good impression in Madrid, amassing 13 goals and two assists in 38 appearances.

His reliability is said to have inspired Real to trigger the option that would keep him at the club on a permanent basis for a fee of just €1.5 million (R30 million)

The Red Devils, however, have entered the picture and are now seriously contemplating making a move for the 34-year-old in the upcoming transfer window, according to Relevo.

It is claimed the Manchester giants recently sent scouts to Madrid with the task of observing the forward and enquiring about his situation at the Santiago Bernabeu. 

United are said to be in the market for a striker who could come in and play a back-up role to 21-year-old attacking prospect Rasmus Hojlund, with Joselu a top option because of his performances in a similar role at the LALIGA giants. 

Prising the veteran striker away from Los Merengues could prove a difficult challenge for the Red Devils, though, as he has previously expressed a strong desire to stay at Real beyond the end of the current season. 

"I hope to stay with Real Madrid on a permanent deal. I had a clause that if Espanyol went down, I could go out on loan," he said in an interview with ABC.

"Well, Madrid had the opportunity, they thought it was convenient to be able to trigger it. And here I am."
